Blue Sedge vs Thinfruit Sedge

This guide is under construction and has not been published yet. It may have errors. When in doubt, double-check other sources for definitive ID.

These species are closely-related and visually similar, and can be difficult to tell apart where their ranges overlap, particularly if seed spikes are not present. Where they overlap, C. flaccosperma is found in consistently-moister habitats, typically in floodplains and bottomlands, whereas C. glaucodea is found in habitats that are drier on average and alternate between wet and dry, and is rare in bottomlands.
