Introduced |
This map is based on our research. We have checked its accuracy to Level 3 ecoregions. Although this plant occurs somewhere in each of these regions, it may only occur in a small part of some or all of them.
This species is not reported anywhere in North America by BONAP, USDA PLANTS, or POWO, but we found vouchered records from the FSU Herbarium and cited by the Atlas of Florida Plants; FSUS also notes this species occurring in FL, and also in the SC Piedmont. Because Hedera species are difficult to identify, their taxonomy has been in flux, and many people do not know to even check against this species, it may be under-reported.
↑Uses
This species is occasionally used as a landscaping plant; as with any of the true ivies (Hedera sp.) it likely has invasive potential and we recommend against planting it.
