Healthline is a popular website focusing on healthcare and medicine. It is owned by Healthline Media, based in San Francisco, CA. The site has roots in a website dating back to 1999, YourDoctor.com, founded by James Norman; the site was relaunched under the name Healthline in 2006.

In a few cases, we link to articles on Healthline that are written about the health effects and medicinal uses of specific plants. Although there are other, competing websites, we choose to link only to Healthline as it is less subject to pro-pharmaceutical bias and has less tendency to encourage hypochondria, relative to WebMD. However, the site has at times still attracted criticism, and still has its limitations.
