This map is based on our research. We have checked its accuracy to Level 3 ecoregions. Although this plant occurs somewhere in each of these regions, it may only occur in a small part of some or all of them.
BONAP reports the Alabama population as Adventive, but FSUS marks it native. If it is not native, we would classify it as Introduced because it is separated from the native range by an area in which this species does not occur, and we saw no evidence that this species is expanding to fill the gap. However, we are not sure which source to trust in this case and we have not heard justification for one stance or the other.
