This map is based on our research. We have checked its accuracy to Level 3 ecoregions. Although this plant occurs somewhere in each of these regions, it may only occur in a small part of some or all of them.

POWO only reports this species in northwest Mexico, i.e. in Sonora and Baja California, but we found two records in the mountains in southwestern Chihuahua, one near Mina el Sauzal. These records were much farther south than the rest of the range. We could not find any further information about these records, but we tentatively report the possibility of an introduction because they did not fit the overall pattern of distribution of this species.
