Although this plant occurs somewhere in each of these regions, it may only occur in a small part of some or all of them.
We found conflicting information on whether this species is native to the US or not; however BONAP and the AL and FL Plant Atlases oll consider it introduced. If it is not native to the US, then its range in the US is separated from its native range in South Mexico southward, by a long distance, hence why we did not mark it Expanded. It is widely planted in gardens and has probably established from garden escapes. We have yet to build the portion of its map in Mexico.
