Although this plant occurs somewhere in each of these regions, it may only occur in a small part of some or all of them.
This species is also native to Canada; we have yet to build this portion of its map. Also note that because of how our regions are drawn, this particular map is misleading in that the area where this species has been extirpated is located in the coastal plain in New Jersey and the part of the Coastal Pine Barrens where it still occurs is farther north, on Long Island.
