Pointed Sandmat (Euphorbia acuta Engelm.)
Also classified as Chamaesyce acuta Millsp., Euphorbia georgei Oudejans.
The name Euphorbia acuta is a conserved name meaning it violates the rules of naming but is accepted for practical reasons, and as such not all authorities accept it. Authorities placing this taxon in the Euphorbia genus but rejecting that name, such as BONAP, use the name Euphorbia georgei. We follow POWO's scheme of using the conserved name.

This tentative map is based on our own research. It may have limited data on Canada and/or Mexico, and there is some subjectivity in our assignment of plants as introduced vs. expanded. Read more in this blog post.
This species is also native to northern Mexico; we have yet to build this portion of its map.
