Notes

POWO has merged this species into texas hawthorn (Crataegus texana). BONAP considers this taxon to be its own proper species, but has merged C. texana into downy hawthorn (Crataegus mollis), but POWO considers them to be separate species. We have not yet made sense of these differences. For now, this page reports a map based on BONAP's map for C. dallasiana.
