Although this plant occurs somewhere in each of these regions, it may only occur in a small part of some or all of them.

Uses

This species is frequently cultivated and grown both as an outdoor landscaping plant, and as a houseplant. From the southern US southward, it often escapes cultivation and establishes in the wild, where it can be invasive. We strongly recommend against planting it outdoors. Although it is mostly limited in the wild to warmer regions, it has established in the wild on isolated sites in more northerly areas as well.
