Although this plant occurs somewhere in each of these regions, it may only occur in a small part of some or all of them.

This species may also be native to Mexico; we are not sure whether or not it is because POWO reports it as also native to Texas, whereas BONAP does not and we are unsure whether this reflects a discrepancy in the reported range, or a taxonomic discrepancy in which POWO includes populations in this species that BONAP considers separate. We have not yet examined these discrepancies.
