Although this species has been observed in and around Edmonton, we recommend against the use of the common name "Edmonton hempnettle" because it is misleading: this species is introduced not only in Edmonton but anywhere in North America. We prefer the descriptive name "Large-flowered Hemp-nettle", which is accurate as this species has unusually large flowers for this genus.
