American Everlasting (Gamochaeta americana (Mill.) Wedd.)

Also known as Gray Everlasting; also classified as Gamochaeta coarctata (Willd.) Kerguélen.

Although the common names "American" and "Gray" everlasting referred to what was thought to be two separate species, we (according to POWO's treatment) treat them as one taxon.

This tentative map is based on our own research. It may have limited data on Canada and/or Mexico, and there is some subjectivity in our assignment of plants as introduced vs. expanded. Read more in this blog post.

This species is native to Mexico and not the US, but is now widely established in the US. We mark it as introduced everywhere it occurs in the US, because there is a large gap between these new populations and its native range, in which this plant does not occur, and there are both deserts and mountains separating the populations. We have yet to build the portion of the map in Mexico.
