This map is based on our research. We have checked its accuracy to Level 3 ecoregions. Although this plant occurs somewhere in each of these regions, it may only occur in a small part of some or all of them.

The uncertainty in our map reflects isolated herbarium records in some of the outlying regions, where we were unable to verify the accuracy of the location data, and/or the records were very old and the species has not been reported in those regions recently.

Habitat

Calthaleaf avens is found in bogs, wet meadows, heathlands, and moist sites on rocky slopes and cliffs. It occurs both in flat bottomlands and steep terrain in alpine zones, both on coastal islands and the mainland. It is uncommon overall, but can be locally abundant on some sites.
