This tentative map is based on our own research. It may have limited data on Canada and/or Mexico, and there is some subjectivity in our assignment of plants as introduced vs. expanded. Read more in this blog post.
Although this plant occurs somewhere in each of these regions, it may only occur in a small part of some or all of them.
This species is widely agreed upon to be native to Mexico and southward, but to have been introduced in Florida and Alabama. BONAP also marks it Adventive in Arizona. We found sources saying it was native in California but no sources referencing a specific location so for now we omit that portion of our range map. We marked most of the new parts of the range as Expanded because all are relatively close to the native range, except the observation in Baltimore which is far from the native range. We have yet to build the portion of the map in Mexico.
