This map is based on our research. We have checked its accuracy to Level 3 ecoregions. Although this plant occurs somewhere in each of these regions, it may only occur in a small part of some or all of them.

This species is native to Mexico, although we do not know exactly where. BONAP considers it adventive everywhere in the US and shows a much larger range than reported by POWO. In parts of its range, such as Florida, it is considered invasive. Our map loosely assumes that this species is native in all of Mexico except Baja California, but it is likely that it has also expanded its range in Mexico.
