This map is based on our research. We have checked its accuracy to Level 3 ecoregions. Although this plant occurs somewhere in each of these regions, it may only occur in a small part of some or all of them.
Some sources report this species as native to the Pacific Northwest and southern Rocky Mountains. BONAP considers these records erroneous. According to FNA, these records are likely Columbian stitchwort (Sabulina austromontana) which FNA calls Minuartia austromontana. This species is now agreed to occur in Alaska, The Yukon, Northwest Territories, British Columbia, and Alberta; we are having trouble determining the exact extent of this species in the southernmost part of its range because the records in British Columbia include misidentifications with S. austromontana and we have not yet sorted through individual records. For now our map reflects this uncertainty.
