This map is based on our research. We have checked its accuracy to Level 3 ecoregions. Although this plant occurs somewhere in each of these regions, it may only occur in a small part of some or all of them.
This species is native to South America. POWO and BONAP both show this species as introduced in California but without reporting a specific location; Calflora does not list it as occurring there; it probably does not occur in the US. POWO also reports it in Mexico and we found a few scattered records south of Monterrey; POWO also reports it introduced farther south in Mexico but we could not locate any specific records.
