This tentative map is based on our own research. It may have limited data on Canada and/or Mexico, and there is some subjectivity in our assignment of plants as introduced vs. expanded. Read more in this blog post.
Although this plant occurs somewhere in each of these regions, it may only occur in a small part of some or all of them.
This species has been introduced east of its native range, primarily around the southern ends of Lake Michigan and Huron and the western end of Lake Erie; although the ecoregions it is introduced into appear to border its native range on our map, it is actually absent from a large area between the new range and its native range, which is why we mark it as Introduced and not Expanded. This species is also native to Canada, and similarly to its range in the US it has been introduced farther east. We have yet to build the portion of its map in Canada.
