This map is based on our research. We have checked its accuracy to Level 3 ecoregions. Although this plant occurs somewhere in each of these regions, it may only occur in a small part of some or all of them.
POWO reports this species as native to northeast Mexico, not northwest, but we found records (and only found records) in northwest Mexico, both in the Sierra Madre Occidental, and in Baja California. This distribution makes more sense given this species distribution on the US side of the border, concentrated in southern AZ and southwestern NM.
