Although this plant occurs somewhere in each of these regions, it may only occur in a small part of some or all of them.
This species is widely agreed to be native to Mexico. BONAP marks it as adventive everywhere in the US, whereas POWO marks it native to TX, FL, and AZ but introduced in NM and OK. Our map treats it as fully native, based on the assertions of FNA that it is native everywhere it occurs in the US, and FSUS's remark that it is sometimes "unwarrantedly" considered introduced. We have yet to build the portion of its map in Mexico.
