Although this plant occurs somewhere in each of these regions, it may only occur in a small part of some or all of them.
This species is also found in Canada, but we have yet to build this portion of its range map, or to determine whether it is native or expanded/introduced there. The northernmost and easternmost populations of this species, in southern Michigan, New Jersey, Massachussets, and Long Island, are likely introduced as garden escapes, but we mark them as expanded because of the proximity to the native range. However this species is uncommon everywhere within its range.
