Although this plant occurs somewhere in each of these regions, it may only occur in a small part of some or all of them.

This species is native to the West Coast and somewhat inland, but has been widely planted in gardens, often escaping to form wild populations, but it is not particularly vigorous in the East. We have marked most of these populations introduced, as they are separated from the native range, but some of the closer introductions, such as Idaho, could perhaps be marked Expanded, which is reflected in uncertainty in our map.
