Deschampsia beringensis Hultén is listed by both BONAP and POWO as being a synonym of Deschampsia cespitosa subsp. cespitosa, which does not make sense given that this proposed species was restricted to the West Coast of North America whereas Deschampsia cespitosa subsp. cespitosa has a much broader range extending very far east across most of North America.
