This map is based on our research. We have checked its accuracy to Level 3 ecoregions. Although this plant occurs somewhere in each of these regions, it may only occur in a small part of some or all of them.
This species is agreed to occur in Greenland, but most sources do not show it occurring anywhere in North America. However, BONAP reports it as adventive in Lyon County, Kansas. We have been unable to find any specifics of this record, however. This species may not occur in the wild in the US.
↑Uses
This species is occasionally planted in gardens as an ornamental. We recommend against planting it in North America as it is non-native and there are numerous, visually-similar native violets to choose from.
