Introduced or Not Present

This map is based on our research. We have checked its accuracy to Level 3 ecoregions. Although this plant occurs somewhere in each of these regions, it may only occur in a small part of some or all of them.

This species is widely cultivated in the US but does not usually escape into the wild. BONAP shows this species as introduced in Los Angeles County, California, but it is not listed in Calflora and we could not find any records or reports of it in the wild in any sources other than BONAP. Our map reflects this uncertainty, but we speculate that the most likely scenario with this species is that it was somehow reported but that record was later excluded as a cultivated plant, given the percentage of Los Angeles County occupied by cultivated gardens.
