Although this plant occurs somewhere in each of these regions, it may only occur in a small part of some or all of them.
This species is native to Mexico, but we have yet to build this portion of its map. It has been introduced in California; for now we have marked it as Expanded because its range in the US is contiguous with its range in northwestern Mexico. BONAP reports the CA records as "waifs" and marks it as no longer present in the state, but Calflora, which has more up-to-date data, shows widespread reports of this species in the wild as recently as 2026 so it is clearly still present in the state.
