Although this plant occurs somewhere in each of these regions, it may only occur in a small part of some or all of them.
This semiaquatic plant is occasionally planted intentionally, but may also spread on its own. It has established primarily along the shorelines of great lakes, where it is not native, but also as far east as Massachussets. We mark this new range as expanded because it is relatively contiguous with the native range.
