Sierran Perennial Cat's-Eye (Oreocarya nubigena Greene)
Also known as Sierra cryptantha; also classified as Cryptantha nubigena (Greene) Payson.
POWO shows a much larger range for this species than reported by USDA or BONAP; we have yet to examine this discrepancy, but it may reflect POWO having merged other populations into this taxon which those other sources consider separate.

This tentative map is based on our own research. It may have limited data on Canada and/or Mexico, and there is some subjectivity in our assignment of plants as introduced vs. expanded. Read more in this blog post.
Although this plant occurs somewhere in each of these regions, it may only occur in a small part of some or all of them.
By USDA and BONAP's treatment this species is restricted to the continental US, but POWO says that this species is also native to Canada. We have not yet examined this discrepancy.
↑Notes
POWO lists a much broader range for this species than BONAP and USDA, extending into British Columbia, Alberta, Oregon, Idaho, and Nevada. Although both of these sources refer to the same or synonymous scientific names and authorities to refer to this taxon, we suspect that these disparities in range map reflect differences in classification, considering certain populations part of this species vs. grouping them with others. We have not yet reconciled these differences.
