Shortfruit Evening Primrose (Oenothera brachycarpa A. Gray)
POWO has merged this species into howard's evening primrose (Oenothera howardii); however, POWO still considers that to be a separate species. We have not yet examined this merge and whether or not it makes sense.

This tentative map is based on our own research. It may have limited data on Canada and/or Mexico, and there is some subjectivity in our assignment of plants as introduced vs. expanded. Read more in this blog post.
Although this plant occurs somewhere in each of these regions, it may only occur in a small part of some or all of them.
This map corresponds to USDA's county-level data for their non-merged taxon. This species is also native to northern Mexico, but we have not yet built this portion of its range map.
