Howard's Evening Primrose (Oenothera howardii (A. Nelson) W.L. Wagner)
BONAP has merged shortfruit evening primrose (Oenothera brachycarpa) into this species, whereas POWO and USDA have kept them separate. We have not yet examined this merge, but for now this record shows a range map that corresponds to BONAP's merged taxon. We may update this if we see evidence that it makes more sense to keep the species separate.

This tentative map is based on our own research. It may have limited data on Canada and/or Mexico, and there is some subjectivity in our assignment of plants as introduced vs. expanded. Read more in this blog post.
Although this plant occurs somewhere in each of these regions, it may only occur in a small part of some or all of them.
