Although this plant occurs somewhere in each of these regions, it may only occur in a small part of some or all of them.
This species is occasionally cultivated in gardens; it can also survive on roadsides, in urban areas, and in agricultural land. As a result, it has established at a few scattered sites east of its native range, even though it has declined in much of its native range due to the destruction of prairies for agricultural use. We mark the new eastern portions of the range expanded because they are relatively close to the native range and mostly separated only by small distances.
