Kansas Hawthorn (Crataegus coccinioides Ashe)
POWO reports a different range for this species, extending well into Canada and New England, but absent from Oklahoma. We have not yet examined this discrepancy, but it may reflect them merging some other populations into this taxon which USDA and BONAP consider separate. We have used BONAP's treatment for now, and note that these names may not refer to the same populations in these different sources.
