Lake Huron Tansy (Tanacetum bipinnatum (L.) Sch. Bip.)

Also known as camphor tansy; also classified as Tanacetum camphoratum Less..

The Camphor Daisy, Tanacetum camphoratum, a West Coast species whose range extends south to California, was merged into this species which formerly was only thought to occur in the Great Lakes region and Canada; most authorities including POWO and BONAP recognize this merge. This species is divided by POWO into two subspecies, but of them, only ssp. bipinnatum occurs in North America; T. camphoratum was merged into that subspecies.

This tentative map is based on our own research. It may have limited data on Canada and/or Mexico, and there is some subjectivity in our assignment of plants as introduced vs. expanded. Read more in this blog post.
