Grannybush (Croton cascarilla (L.) L.)

This tentative map is based on our own research. It may have limited data on Canada and/or Mexico, and there is some subjectivity in our assignment of plants as introduced vs. expanded. Read more in this blog post.
Although this plant occurs somewhere in each of these regions, it may only occur in a small part of some or all of them.
↑Notes
POWO lists this species as a synonym of Croton eluteria (L.) W.Wright, whereas USDA PLANTS lists it as a synonym of Croton linearis Jacq., which POWO considers a species in its own right, but this grouping does not make sense because POWO does not report that species as occuring in Florida. POWO lumps Croton cascarilla var. linearis (Jacq.) Griseb. in with Croton linearis Jacq. We have not yet resolved these relationships, and for now have stuck with the classification scheme of BONAP and USDA which treat this as its own species.
