This tentative map is based on our own research. It may have limited data on Canada and/or Mexico, and there is some subjectivity in our assignment of plants as introduced vs. expanded. Read more in this blog post.
Although this plant occurs somewhere in each of these regions, it may only occur in a small part of some or all of them.
BONAP reports this species as adventive in the southeast; the uncertainty on our maps reflects that FSUS marks all these populations as waifs, meaning they have not formed sustaining populations. We treat these populations as introduced rather than expanded because there is a significant gap between these regions and the rest of this species' range. However it could perhaps also be marked Expanded because this species is spreading on its own and shows a pattern of expanding around its native range. This species is also native to Mexico, where it has expanded its range southeast. We have yet to build this portion of its map.
