Louisiana Bluestar (Amsonia ludoviciana Vail ex Small)

POWO cites the authority for this name only as Small, whereas USDA and BONAP cite it only as Vail. INPI, however, cites it as Vail ex Small, suggesting that Small initially published the name but without a full description, and this was corrected by Vail. Whatever is going on with these names, they refer to the same taxon. We have adopted IPNI's convention with this name.
