This map is based on our research. We have checked its accuracy to Level 3 ecoregions. Although this plant occurs somewhere in each of these regions, it may only occur in a small part of some or all of them.

This species occurs mostly in the eastern portion of the Canadian Rockies; we found one 1974 report that appeared to be from the foothills just east of the Rockies but were unable to verify the accuracy of its location.

Notes

We recommend against using the common name "snow arnica" as it more often refers to Arnica griscomii subsp. frigida which was once considered a separate species, Arnica frigida C.A.Mey. ex Iljin.
