This species is widely agreed to be native to the tropical Americas, including Mexico, and to have expanded northward, but it is not known exactly where its native range limit was. We found conflicting claims of whether or not it is native to Texas. BONAP considers the Oregon record questionable, which is reflected in our map. We have not yet built the portion of this map in Mexico.
