Although this plant occurs somewhere in each of these regions, it may only occur in a small part of some or all of them.

BONAP reports this species as native to Texas and Louisiana but adventive farther east and north; we marked it expanded because the new populations are adjacent to the native range or separated by only short distances. POWO however considers it introduced in Texas and Louisiana. It is also native to Mexico and southward; we have yet to build the portion of its map in Mexico.
