Expanded or Not Present

This tentative map is based on our own research. It may have limited data on Canada and/or Mexico, and there is some subjectivity in our assignment of plants as introduced vs. expanded. Read more in this blog post.

BONAP reports this species as native to Texas and Louisiana but adventive farther east and north; we marked it expanded because the new populations are adjacent to the native range or separated by only short distances. POWO however considers it introduced in Texas and Louisiana. It is also native to Mexico and southward; we have yet to build the portion of its map in Mexico.
