Although USDA PLANTS lists the common name "Oriental bittersweet" for this species, we recommend against using that name because it is ambiguous and more often refers to oriental bittersweet (Celastrus orbiculatus). The other common names we list are both more widely-used to refer to this species, and less ambiguous.
