We consider this species, which is native and common in the West, to be expanded in the east because it has expanded contiguously with its range, and is a small, weedy plant that has colonized disturbed, open habitats in the east that were created by humans. It remains uncommon and scattered in most of the East. This species is also native to Canada, and also may have expanded its range in Canada; we have yet to build this portion of its map.
