Carolina Dayflower (Commelina caroliniana Walter)
↑Notes
This species has both a misleading common and scientific name. These reflect the fact that this plant was first described in the southeastern US, and it was only later discovered that it is not native to North America and was actually introduced from India. Unfortunately, there are not any other common names for this species widely in use; if we learn of one we would probably prefer it to the current misleading name.
