This map is based on our research. We have checked its accuracy to Level 3 ecoregions. Although this plant occurs somewhere in each of these regions, it may only occur in a small part of some or all of them.
This species is native to Europe and has been introduced in the US. There are isolated record which are usually treated as waifs, in that they may not have persisted, and a newer population in California that seems to have persisted from at least 2013-15. This plant is weedy and seems to spread readily on its own, historically spreading through ship ballast, it but seems poor at persisting in North America.
