Although this plant occurs somewhere in each of these regions, it may only occur in a small part of some or all of them.

According to POWO this species is native as far north as northeast Mexico. It has established in the US probably through garden escapes. POWO reports populations in Illinois and Texas which BONAP does not. We mark US populations introduced because they are isolated and separated from the native populations by a large gap. We have not yet built the portion of this species' range map in Mexico.
