Braceletwood (Jacquinia armillaris Jacq.)

Page contents

Range

This species was formerly reported by USDA PLANTS as occurring in South Florida. However, this was probably due to specimens which at the time were identified as Jacquinia armillaris var. arborea, then treated as a variety of this species. That variety has since been reclassified as belonging to torchwood (Jacquinia arborea), a different species. This species, which is native only to South America, is now agreed upon not to occur anywhere in the wild in North America.
