Southern Lobelia (Lobelia amoena Michx.)

Many older sources lump Georgia lobelia (Lobelia georgiana) in with this species as var. glandulifera. We follow the convention of many newer authorities including FSUS and POWO, in separating them. Sources that lump them together refer to this taxon as Lobelia amoena var. amoena. Because L. georgiana has a broader range, particularly in the northeast, there are disparities in the reported ranges.
