Elegant Cinquefoil (Potentilla concinna Richardson)
Some authorities, including USDA PLANTS, consider bicrenate cinquefoil (Potentilla bicrenata) a variety of this species. We separate them per the treatment of most other authorities, including POWO and BONAP. There is also an additional difference in treatment in that USDA PLANTS only recognizes var. concinna and var. proxima, whereas BONAP and POWO recognize a third variety, var. divisa. This variety is split from the main var. concinna as recognized by USDA PLANTS.

This tentative map is based on our own research. It may have limited data on Canada and/or Mexico, and there is some subjectivity in our assignment of plants as introduced vs. expanded. Read more in this blog post.
Although this plant occurs somewhere in each of these regions, it may only occur in a small part of some or all of them.
