This map is based on our research. We have checked its accuracy to Level 3 ecoregions. Although this plant occurs somewhere in each of these regions, it may only occur in a small part of some or all of them.
This species is native to West Africa and would be introduced in North America. FSUS reports it as only occurring in the coastal plain in Alabama and the Florida Panhandle, and reports both as waifs meaning it did not persist. USDA reports the Florida record but no others, and BONAP does not report that record.
