This species is widely agreed to be native from Mississippi westward. USDA PLANTS reports this species as also native to AL and FL. BONAP reports it as Adventive in FL and not present in AL. FSUS reports it as "maybe exotic" in both Alabama and FL. Our map reflects this uncertainty. This species is also agreed to be native to Mexico, but we have yet to build this portion of its map.
